As a child Julia was known as the ’stubborn sunshine’. Dressed head to toe in bright yellow, she was as headstrong as she was happy. She had an unusual dislike for cartoons, but could devour hours of European social realism. Interested in people, she quickly understood the importance of details in storytelling and formed the belief that warmth, the ability to create recognisable characters and carefully crafted emotion are the best tools for telling even the most challenging and exciting stories.
